Who we are

FairJobhunt ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data processed via this Service. We are based in the United Kingdom. For privacy questions, contact privacy@fairjobhunt.co.uk.

Data we collect

  • Account data: email address, chosen nickname, role (jobhunter or employer), password hash.
  • Profile data: skills, experience and any content you choose to share with employers.
  • Employer data: company name, billing details and Listings you publish.
  • Payment data: handled by our payment provider; we receive transaction metadata only, never your full card number.
  • Technical data: IP address, device, browser, pages visited, and cookies (see below).

How we use your data and lawful basis

  • To provide the Service and your account — performance of a contract.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions — performance of a contract.
  • To moderate Listings, prevent fraud and enforce our Terms — legitimate interests.
  • To comply with UK legal obligations — legal obligation.
  • To send service emails (e.g. application updates). Marketing emails are sent only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Sharing

Jobhunter profile information is shared with employers you apply to. We share data with processors who help us run the Service (hosting, database, email, payments). We do not sell personal data. International transfers are protected by UK-approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

Retention

Account and profile data is kept while your account is active and for up to 24 months after closure for legal and dispute-resolution purposes. Financial records are retained for 6 years as required by UK tax law.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights email privacy@fairjobhunt.co.uk. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and audit logging. No service is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password.
